Windvines: Harvesting the Wind from Highway Traffic

Temporary installation to test out my idea for a permanent artwork at the intersection of I-5 and 65th between Roosevelt and Green Lake. Traffic on the highway above powered a vertical axis turbine that powered lights on the vines below.

The vines would be very organic looking, growing up from below and twining down from above.
