A Safe Zone for Amphibians
(1998) glass, steel, stone, vegetation.
In Situ Exhibit, Kansas City Art Institute, Kansas City MO.
Three small pools were created in a campus lawn to create habitat for amphibians, which are disappearing worldwide because of their sensitivity to increased UV light caused by a thinning ozone layer. Arcing panels of glass block the UV rays.
Before Installation area was just a wet area at the base of a drainage culvert.
