Running Fence /Turtle Blind

Running Fence/Turtle Blind (1994). Silk-screen collage on paper. 22" x 30". Proposal resurrects Christo's original Running Fence while giving it an ecological purpose. The fence would be erected on a beach where sea turtles nest to shield pregnant females and hatchlings from the disorienting effects of artificial lights. The fence would be lowered during the day to allow residents a view of the ocean and then raised up at night to block the light from streets and houses.
